Email Deliverability Testing ToolsUpdated 2 years ago

Types of Tests

  • Predictive Tests: You send an email to the testing service address (sometimes it's a unique address) and the system evaluates it based on many criteria including
    • Authentication (DKIM, SPF, DMARC)
    • Perceived "spamminess" due to content, language, attachments, links, formatting, etc.
  • Live Inbox Tests: You send an email to a LOT of addresses (could be 70+ for a good service) and the service actually watches those inboxes and lets you know if the email arrived in the Inbox, the Spam folder, or maybe never arrived at all (quarantined or rejected)
    • These services typically use many inboxes from various mailbox providers such as Microsoft 365, Hotmail, Outlook.com, GMail, Yahoo, etc.
    • Some of the mailboxes may be configured with different spam-filtering settings or services such as SpamCop, Barracuda, etc.
